Marietta Gun Club
The Marietta Gun Club was founded in 1948 and is a private not for profit club run and operated by and for its members.
The club is open to the public who wish to shoot trap or skeet. Shotguns only. No pistols or rifles are allowed. No shot larger than 7 ½ may be discharged on club property, for safety reasons.
A non-member who wishes to shoot must be accompanied by a club member to open the facilities, or may join a group of club members to shoot. As the club is operated by its members rather than a manager, there is no scheduling involved. Shooting hours are between 9am to 10pm, seven days per week, except during leagues or tournaments.
The cost to shoot is $3.00 per round of 25 targets for both members and non-members.
Membership in the club requires submission of a membership application endorsed by a current member accompanied by an application fee of $100 plus first years dues of $50 ($25 after July 1). Subsequent dues are $50/yr. Membership applications may be obtained in the clubhouse.
All shooters at the club are required to wear eye and ear protection. Alcohol consumption is prohibited on the club grounds while shooting.
New applicants are required to attend one club meeting usually held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the clubhouse. New members are expected to contribute to the operations of the club in a way which is mutually agreeable with the board of directors.
